Dyrosaurus phosphaticus skull from Morocco
We are pleased to offer the important crocodile skull Dyrosaurus phosphaticus measuring 85 cm, exhibiting the attributes of a Diapsid with the teeth in the original positions of the alveoli, both in the maxilla and mandible. The genus Dyrosaurus has two species: D. phosphaticus and D. maghribensis. D. phosphaticus was first discovered in Algeria, while D. maghribensis has only been found in Morocco. D. maghribensis differs from D. phosphaticus by several features, mainly: a smooth dorsal margin of the parietal choanae and widely open, wide and strongly T-shaped interfenestral bar instead of moderately T-shaped. In D. maghribensis lateral dorsal osteoderms and medial are not sutured and do not have a serrated margin. The anterolateral margin of the medial line of dorsal osteoderms has a rounded lateral lobe and the lateral line of dorsal osteoderms has a square shape with rounded corners. In D. phosphaticus, there are four longitudinal rows of square, thin osteoderms with shallow, wide cavities. The osteoderms are square and the anterolateral margin of the medial dorsal osteoderms has an acute, rounded process, directed laterally. Wikipedia
